A PhD study at JKU is a research project. Normally, you have to come up with an idea for a PhD topic and describe it in a research proposal of about 5 pages. The proposal should explain the state of the art in the respective field, and how your research would contribute in pushing the knowledge frontier forward. Before you apply for admission, please contact one of the professors of our institutes and discuss your research plan with him or her.
