General Information about studying in Linz can be found under http://www.students.jku.edu/exchange/content/index_eng.html. Where can I find a list of all courses?

Most pages also have a link to the Homepage of the course where you can find more specific information. Where can I find descriptions of the course contents?

You can look up the phone number of staff members at
http://www.jku.at/personen/. Where can I find information about institutes?
Go to http://informatik.jku.at/Organisation/Institute.html. What about exams?
For every course there is an exam (usually in the last week of the semester).
For most courses this is a written exam, but some exams are also in oral form.
For exercises and practicals the mark is sometimes determined on the
basis of the submitted exercises. Which courses are in English and which are in German?
Unfortunately most of our courses are in German. A link to a list of all English courses can be found at http://informatik.jku.at/Studium/Incoming/Courses.html.
Are there courses about the German language?
Yes, there are such courses (see
http://www.students.jku.edu/exchange/content/e46/e130/index_eng.html). Intensive courses start 2-3 weeks before the semester
(i.e. in the middle of February and at the beginning of September). Erasmus students should have received
appropriate information about these courses. CEEPUS students please contact Mr. Szelegowitz (andreas.szelegowitz@oead.at) in time.
When should I arrive?
Please note, that it is beneficial to come already two weeks before the semester starts. First, you have to register for the courses, which sometimes get full very quickly. Second, there are some administrative things to do. It is better to do these things before the semester starts, i.e. during the orientation programme organised by the International Office. This would also allow you to participate in the German intensive language course. Please see http://www.jku.at/exchange/ for further information. |
